The part number for the Defender (11L Engine) is ETC7939 The part number for the disco (12L Engine) is ETC7469 As the part numbers are different, I would guess that there is a slight length difference........... But a 200tdi does have a fair bit of slack adjustment as I was running a v8 efi alternator belt on my 200tdi disco , for a bit. GBMUD Posted June 4, 2010 Share Posted June 4, 2010 The alternators will fit, the belts will not IIRC. The reason being that the water pump on the Disco is located lower down - they have different front housings. A new belt is only a couple of quid, buy two and keep one as spare.
