OneThinBloke
Hi All, I am new to the forum and now calling on your infinitely greater knowledge on all things Landy as I'm more au fait with bikes. I was unaware that carburetors are apparently discontinued obsolete items in the car world, mind you I only have old bikes anyway! The carbs in question are a pair of Strombergs on a 3.5 V8 of early but unknown vintage (not had log book back yet). I have tried a number of places to get the throttle linkage doubrey, the threaded rod with a flimsy plastic which becomes brittle with age fitting on each end to connect with the ball joint, allowing synchronisation? Where can I get one of these? I've tried the ..addocks already. Do any of you have one lying around or do I need to manufacture and alternative? Thanks in advance, James
TheRecklessEngineer
I might have something kicking around, but it'll be a few weeks before I'm next at my workshop. I'll let you know. And just jumping in before anyone else suggests it: You could always Megasquirt it

sussex-landy
If you struggle drop me a photo of your carb as I have four sets of carbs on manifolds which I have bought off ebay over the years to use as parts for my two land rovers as previous owners had welded things to my original carbs linkage when they couldnt get the right parts.
