garymorris
Hello folks I have a D reg 110 and would like to fit a 300 tdi steering wheel so the question is , is it a straight swap or if it's not what other bits will I need ? Cheers Gary
western
if your talking about the steering wheel identified as Type B in this link http://www.web-rover.co.uk/nav.php?p=articles/steeringwheels it will only fit vehicles which have a Thick 48 spline column, I suspect your 110 has the Thin 36 spline column same as my 1989 110, I've changed from the Type A to Type C. Mo Murphy
Yes and no A 300 Tdi wheel will not fit onto your column as it has the wrong number of splines (assuming you still have the original '86 column). However it appears that recently Land Rover have made some 300 type wheels with the correct number of splines for your column. Good luck finding one The normal TD5 steering wheel with the big pad in the middle will however fit straight on to your column. Easy choice HTH Mo
jbs
A friend of mine wanted to do this he found the easiest way was to change the steering column over for a later one I think he paid £10 at Newbury for one HTH John
garymorris
Ralph / Mo /JBS , yes mine still has the type A wheel and column So I suppose given that the TD5 one will fit as a straight swap I better get and source one Many thanks Gary
