Off Road Toad Posted July 20, 2010 Share Posted July 20, 2010 Have got an 'occasional' problem with my wifes disco. It's a 3ootdi R reg xs. Just occasionally and randomly the central locking doesn't respond. i then use the key to gain access. the alarm doesn't go off. I have full dash warning lights etc but on turning the key the starter won't turn. From what i've read i suspect the alarm spyder?. currently this happens maybe once per month and if i disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes it then all works fine again. Any ideas? scube Posted July 20, 2010 Share Posted July 20, 2010 A friend of mine had a similar problem and was told it was the spider.. He kept plugging away to get to the bottom of the problem, even in desperation took it to a couple of garages. In the end it turned out to be the rear door curtsey light switch the wires behind the switch had chaffed. Worth checking the simple things first.
