dcdefender
Recently fitted a new fuel lift pump to my Defender 200tdi. Noticed slight dripping on top of oil filter. So re fitted with gasket sealant to make sure it was sealed properly. Still have a slow drip from underside of pump from the pump arm? Can I repair this or is it time for another new pump from Paddocks!? I have only been using this pump for two months1 Is it a case of unlucky fault or Britpart inferior quality? Any help appreciated TA DC

western
where is it dripping from ? there's a drain hole on the underside of lift pump if not dripping from there, recheck the pipe connections are tight.

Drip seems to be directly centre and underside of pump lever.
western
sounds like the diaphragm is leaking or a internal seal, needs replacing, get a Delphi unit if you can.
reb78
Sounds like what happened to me at the weekend - ended up getting worse, running very poorly and leaving a diesel puddle so had to be replaced asap. My old unit was a delphi one - was fine but only lasted 2 years (i expected a little more) but they should be good units - OEM i think. My new one should be made of gold for the price i paid for it from the STEALER! (it was an emergency of sorts as i was away from home). Also expected a full set of gaskets for the price i paid but thankfully a kind soul stepped in and sent me one !
