am i missing something obvious here???

Recommended Posts

am i missing something here... i need to remove the front seat in my 1996 disco as i've broken it... i've tiped it forward (3 door) and looked underneath but cant realy see how to get it out.

on my last 'real car' you lifted a tab and could then slide the seat straight off its runners, which is what i'd like to do... then i can slide the replacement straight on...

a breif description would be great..

Mr Freeagent,

There are four bots that hold the seat to the runners, but you need to slide the seat to certain positions to get to them. I took mine out a few weeks ago, but I can't remember exactly where the bolts are! You need to slide the seat all the way forward on the runner, and then you should be able to see the front ones up in the 'well' of the runner, then do the same with the seat all the way back.

Hope that helps

...... and they're 'star heads', not allen bolts - I had some star-bits in a screwdriver set, and ended up fitting the largest bit into an appropriately-sized 3/8" drive socket cos the bolts were FT (fricking tight!). Not sure if you could get away with using an allen key.

thankyou very much Mark, thats just what i wanted. :)

i'd have spent all day looking for them..... :(
