western Posted August 4, 2010 Share Posted August 4, 2010 because their not as well informed as the rest of us, it's a genuine LR built/designed engine that was part of a 4,5,6 cylinder family while BMW were in charge, the 4 & 6 cylinder units were ditched in favour of Bmw engines for Freelander & RR. so maybe thats why some call it a BMW unit.
