303 BRITISH Posted August 11, 2010 Share Posted August 11, 2010 Can anyone help!! my Freelander 1999 diesel turns over but wont start . Its been stood a little while and the battery drained flat, charged it up but i have non of the warning lights show up on the dash the plip works engine turns over on the key but there is no power to the stop solenoid on injector pump & heater plugs tried the EKA code indicators flash when the immobiliser is armed and disarmed . I think it is the immobiliser circuit no hazard or indicators and front electric windows don't work either any one had a similar fault any ideas out there. Its a good job i own a mitsi get in and drive Jap carp . Can the immobiliser be bypassed. Before any one starts about discussing disarming immobiliser on a forum, security and all that. My 2005 Freelander Td4 did well for over 3.000km until we finished our lunch on our way back. When I used the key fob, the doors unlocked. I put the key in the ignition all lights on the dash went on, the radio did it, but I could not start the engine. My windows and alarmlights etc. did it but it was like the immobiliser was not set off. We looked into the manual, and yes, my wife was right. The key fob had to be synchronised again with the car. You do that by quickly pushing 5 times on one of the buttons on your key fob and do that close to your car. We drove off, we stopped for diesel no problems, we drove 50 meters to park the car for a quick stop and when we wanted to leave, same story again. Now I'm back and haven't got the problem but changed the batteries in the key fob. Perhaps this is helpfull for your problem. Good luck. I have found a new OE pump for 95 quid plus delivery and vat and breakers want 200. Jokers!!! need a coupler though to go on the end of the loom then I will have another go just hope the loom didn't earth and stuff the ecc unit when it was cut and i said who would pinch a hippo .
