freeagent
as it says.. what sort of money should i expect to pay a good, independant LR specialist to change the clutch and fork on my 1996 Disco 300Tdi? i've got a place in mind (who does my MOT's and stuff) but no idea what they might say when i phone up.... i don't know how long it takes as not sure if its an engine out job, or strip half the interior out... i know the bits are about £100.... cheers m@tt... Les Henson
I would charge around £220 including parts (Borg and Beck clutch), so I reckon a garage would charge twice that, and a main agent around £6-750 possibly. Les.
freeagent
if northfleet and swindon we're not so far appart, i'd probably take you up on that Les....

GBMUD
if northfleet and swindon we're not so far appart, i'd probably take you up on that Les.... If a clutch kit costs about £100 then the difference will pay for the diesel and a night in a Travel lodge! There, a free holiday in sunny Swindon with every clutch change! You can then drive home across Salisbury Plain. Are you still thinking? Chris
jules
Stunning will cost around £175 + parts Bournemouth
Guest diesel_jim
Defender not disco, but T H Whites quoted me about £650 + vat last year. needless to say, i didn't go there (although work was paying anyway.... if it was my 110 i'd have done it myself!)
