johntom
Hi i'm about to change the timing belt on my EDC tdi Auto and wondered what i could use to lock the flywheel instead of Land Rover item LRT-12-085? According to the haynes manual there are 2 different part no's, LRT-12-044 for models with conventional injection systems and LRT-12-085 for the EDC models? Can the job be done without the tool (as per the write up on this forum) if so how do you tighten the crankshaft bolt? many thanks
piper109
If you can access the flex plate on the section below the ZF, you could bolt a stop into a flex plate hole to prevent rotation. I have done this with a bare engine (no g/box). Alternatively bolt in something to lock into the starter ring after removing starter.
