fergytd4
Hi Guys, I'm one of those newbies that keep asking questions, relying on your experience and knowledge. Retired and living on the coast near Eyemouth I've got myself a new toy one of those shiny black things. This must be a question thats been done many times but I cant find the answer. I have an 05 Freelander Sport with 18" rims and 235/50/18 standard tyres fitted. Can anyone please tell what are the largest tyres I can fit onto rims. I am looking at fitting BFG AT or the General Grabber AT2. Thanks
Mr Bean
I think you will struggle finding large AT tyres in an 18" size. How wide are your rims?
GaryB
Plenty of tires in 18 inch rims so Oldhand's comments misleading, maybe not as many as 16 inch's but they are for sale. The problem you will face is what will fit under the arches. The wife has a FL1 Sport and I fancy 255/60/18 Grabbers but fear as the sport is lower than standard, they'll snag everywhere. Anyone fitted any wider/bigger/chunkier tires to a FL 1 sport? Gary
Mr Bean
How much lower is a "Sport" to a standard FL1?
Dazza65
Seem to recall that whilst researching my Sport FL1 that the difference is 30cm (and stiffer suspension)
