Souster
hi folks, ive just fitted a safari snorkel for my 300tdi and made sure its all sealed by covering the snorkel top and making the engine stall. WHich worked perfectly thanks to the tech archive on here. But, ive come across a wire going and its on the induction pipe air box to the turbo. The wire goes to an electronic device which is mounted on the bulkhead and appears to have an egr breather from what im aware attatched to it. So what is this wire and electronic device.. and it it ok to disconnect it and find away of sealing it up?? Many thanks josh
western
photo will help us identify it, sounds like a egr modulator valve

western
valve looks like item 1 on page below, from RAVE workshop manual, you can completely remove the EGR system, without any MOT or operating problems.
Souster
Thanks western. So ive removed the EGR but can i remove that valve also, as it looks like its connected to the brake servo and air intake pipe. Or am i better leaving it and just sealing the air intake pipe. Thanks again.
western
Yes you can remove it, the other pipes are just vacuum sensing pipes to operate the valve, just ensure both a suitable sealed.
