binch
Okay.... I have a question for those with far more knowledge then I ;-) I'm in the process of procuring a 1985 ex-mod 110. Under the hood is an enormous generator that suppose to produce 26volts and 100 amps. Can someone tell me what this would have been used for, as the engine runs off a seperate alternator. The other thing I'd like to know.....What can I do with it? What type of things can I run off of that type of power??? cheers,Bill
binch
wow....I can't believe there are no responses!??! Doesn't anyone have any ideas here to help me out????? cheers,Bill
rtbarton
Your vehicle could very well have been FFR - fitted for radio. The big alternator would have been used to power the radio gear. 2.6 KW at 24 volts. Rewire your house for 24volts and fasten it to a water wheel. Des Morgan
As Roger said, & it would have charged a bank of batteries for the radio gear. They usually sat under the radio stuff, although I understand some had side lockers with slide out batteries.
