poohbear
Hi all, Looking at a transmission from a 300tdi on a well known auction site. Question is: I'm guessing this will be an R380 box? If I remember correctly the clutch release mechanism is on the opposite compared to my 200tdi converted TD, If so can I use my TD bellhousing or will the input shaft of the g-box be the wrong length or the clutch be an issue? I know the selector mechanism will also need to be changed. Any thoughts gratefully received. D.
western
300tdi R380 won't fit, shaft & bellhousing are to long, to fit a R380 to a 200Tdi you need the stumpy bell housing version like this one [& mine] from Ashcroft Transmissions Short Bellhousing R380 300tdi version it maybe posible to convert the 300tdi R380, but parts such as the stumpy bell housing are not easy to obtain. clutch slave on my stumpy 380 is on the left same as my original TD/LT77 combination. poohbear
Thanks Ralph. I'm assuming that by default a disco 300tdi would be an R380 not lt77?
western
Thanks Ralph. I'm assuming that by default a disco 300tdi would be an R380 not lt77? All 300Tdi vehicles had a R380 or a Auto transmission, LT77 was never factory fitted to a 300tdi engine.

poohbear
Anybody fancy a good deal on an R380 box? The guy selling this trans lives just round the corner from me - I only need the transfer box and would be a shame to miss the opportunity Dave.
