rickdulas
Hi Can anyone recommend a simple and inexpensive gps system that's either hand held or could be run on an Acer notebook, and can be used on the move in the 90.. I'm working on the Falklands for a few months, and all I want is the ability to locate my position and enter an OS ref, then go from one to the other. Any help or advice ( in plain English) gratefully recieved as I dont know squat about GPS Thanks Rick

landmannnn
Are there os maps of the falklands? Do you want sat nav? ie road navigation or just straight line across open country? The simplest is a handheld unit where you set waypoints or a track of where you have been. Tell us exactly what you want do...
headhunter
Contact Bog Monster on here, he lives in The Falklands, so will be up to speed on what works best there. John
littlepow
East or West Falkland Islands? There aren't very many roads out there and some areas are out of bounds due to mines (they move under the ground!).
