Pinn76
Hi all, I own a '94 300tdi disco and fed up with replacing the rear prop doughnuts, so with the advice from a close friend was gonna change the prop for the older 200/rrc type with uj's at each end. However, after sourcing a diff flange and prop from a rrc went to exchange them over, only to find disco has 24 splines on the flange and rrc has 4. Its been suggested that I swap the Pinion and Crown from the rrc diff into mine. Main question is, Are the ratios the same or will this lead to other internals needing to be transfered. Regards Bri yep will be the same but why not just get a 24 spline flange, FRC3002 and from looking at the kam website its 22 quid would save a bit of time... paul
karlo
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item5adb7aad5e There are 2 flanges one @ 49mm long fitted to 200 series and one @ 61mm long, you need the 61mm long flange stc4858 . If you use the shorter 49mm flange then you need a 12mm spacer which Ashcroft's do.
Pinn76
Thanks for the quick replies. My mate wants 24 spline axles for the challenge truck so will probably just do a straight swap with his 10s as we keep blowing a diff every event. Range Rover Blues
If you swap the rubber doughnut you "MUST" change the support bush within the propshaft at the same time, I learned this the hard way and since it's been done I have no more problems with it, that was either 2 or 3 years ago.
