simonb Posted July 27, 2011 Share Posted July 27, 2011 Here's a photo of my solution to mount wrong-sided tabbed alternator to a 200TDI. It also makes adjustment a lot easier. My only worry is the rear tab may be too close to the PS pump output but I think it's good. The alternator pictured is a 100A unit. These cannot have the mounting orientation changed by unbolting the front casing and rotating it. Your unit is also a Magneti Marrelli one which was the standard LR supplied 100A unit. There are now however smaller 100A units on Ebay which look very similar to the standard 65A units but have extra cooling slots in the casing. I'm not sure who makes these.
