Tibout
hi guys weather is getting cold and i've notice several of us are having issue starting the truck in the morning. my have the same issue as well. its a 200tdi 113k on the clock new battery etc. i suspect the heater plug to be faulty. i'm just wondering how hard is it to replace them. is there any thread which describe the procedure? thanks in advance thierry
cypermethrin
TBH this is dead easy - even I can do it and L'm no expert ! You'll need a decent socket set to unscrew the terminal wire connection ontop of the plug and then one for rmoving the plug itself. All 4 all are in a line - connected in series with a wire (usually yellow) - on the drivers side of the engine block just below each of the 4 injectors (they are the ones with all the pipe work lead to and from them). Simple to disconnect wire - remove heater plug carefully ensuring you dont break it. Repeat but in reverse for the fitting. Even if you are a little slow doing this for the first time - 5 minutes for each and you're done. Challo
I got them from Simon Services in Wakefield(Independant Land Rover Specialist) unfortunately they are Br£tpa%t but thats all he had available and i fitted them with engine cold as it was quicker to change 'em then start the landy as it flatted battery day before as wouldn't start til about 20mins of pre heating!!!! Hope this helps Cheers Chris
JimAttrill
Unfortunately the Br!tp@art (and other makes) don't last very long, 6 months is about average. The OEM Beru ones cost more but last for years.
