D2 Brake disc retaining screw

If no-one beats me to it, I'll check when I change my front hub / wheel bearing and CV this weekend.

No need to measure the screw for me scrumps.

I've replaced my discs today and the screw is an M8 20mm :)

Pardon the intrusion but im curious as to why these screws are needed in general? As long as the wheel nuts are secure the disk is sandwiched between the wheel and the hub anyway. So i'm always a bit puzzled about this seemingly innocuous little screw. Anyone set me straight - i feel im being really dumb and missing something obvious.

They make life just that little easier when you're replacing pads as far as i'm concerned.

Stops the disc moving about whilst your holding the pads and lowering the calliper into the bracket.

You don't "need" them, but they are helpful.
