trendkill
Need a new set of bearings for my 90 (300tdi disco axles) Thinking all 4 corners need doing. Where do people normally buy from? - Mail order & cheap as possible! Many thanks, Bob
potato head
Paddocks do cheap ones but remember....Buy cheap...... buy twice. Personally I try to work on the principle that any item that could fail and end up putting you in a ditch is worth spending a little bit more on. western
have a look in your phone book/yellow pades for bearing supplier, Timken bearings are one of the best to go for.
Retroanaconda
If the bearings are the same as Defenders (which I think they are) then it's part number RTC3429. Timken references LM603049 (cone) and LM603011 (cup) I think. Paddocks supply OEM bearings, most places will sell you a set of Timken ones. They're good quality Avoid any that haven't got a brand name on
landroversforever
Not much help really, I buy mine from my local independent. Timken ones
Mo Murphy
Don't buy anything other than Timken or genuine (same thing), the others are made of cheese, albeit a slightly different type of cheese to that that cheap UJs are made from HTH Mo
trendkill
Cheers people! Looks like its going to cost around £22 a corner. Can't wait for a smooth ride again! cackshifter
Paddocks do Timken as well as 'other' brands; also OEM seals, and are relatively cheap. Nigel
smokinv8
OEM seals. Nigel Like Nigel has said OEM seals because they will fit much better than others I have tried!
Mo Murphy
Corteco are the OEM seal manufacturer
landroversforever
Corteco seals for me . If the seal appears not to fit, it's the hub not the seal... One of my hubs had a massive burr on the edge.
