defender-kris
Hi, I have a defender 200 tdi engine in my Land Rover, the bottom end has gone, and I am thinking of replacing it with an 200 tdi out of a discovery, does antone know if the engine block is the same, I have done this the other way around and had to install a modified exhaust manifold. and intercooler pipes. Any help on this would be of great assistance.
LandyManLuke
The block is the same, its the timing case, manifolds and turbo that are different.

LandyManLuke
I've not done it, but having done a timing belt change, I reckon it's not particularly hard, but it'll take a while, there's a fair bit to strip down and keep track of. western
fairly easy to swap the timing case over, make sure you have a 200tdi engine block gasket kit to hand & a good workshop manual.
Mo Murphy
It's pretty straightforward, have a look at my build thread in readers wives members vehicles. Mo
