lynall
Im after some knowledge about how to tell whether a 93 TDI was built as a station wagon. The one i have bought has rear side windows but no rear seats Or is this a utility? Ta Lynall
Retroanaconda
The 7th digit in the VIN will tell you. 'M' indicates a station wagon. Edit: Stupid Internet Explorer....cleaned up the mess!

lynall
Brilliant thanks Im not bothered just curious as its an unusual colour and all looks original apart from a lift and cranked arms. It almost seemed to posh just to be a utility model! Lynall
western
if it was original built as a station wagon, there should be a full headliner, apline windows & trim around [or the tell tale marks/holes] for the rear side windows & bolt holes for the rear bench or individual side facing seats. lynall
Yes its got a full headliner, apline windows and trims around the alpine windows. I will have a look for bolt holes when i get it home. Ta Lynall
Andrew Chua
it's possible to get a 90 with alpine windows and full headlining but with utility panels. on my tiny island it really is the luck of the draw on what you will be getting here. Yostumpy
Also I believe the steering wheel is different, the st wgn has a 'Hump' on the wheel, and the h/t is flat, but the steering columns are different splines, so not readily interchangable.
