Wash / wipe, blowing fuses...

Hi All,

My 1998 110 started popping fuses when I use the washers. If I pull the wiper blades off of the screen and push the wash wipe it works fine.

Changed the washer pump for a new one, seemed ok. Went for a drive in the rain and pop goes the fuse...

Ran out of 15amp so used a 30amp and still pop...

Any ideas as to why?

Cheers

Dave.

i had same on my 04 td5 110, changed wiper stalk and still fuses the fuse so fitted new motor and all is well.

Ahhhha!! found an old wiper stalk in my garage, changed it over. Sat on my drive way for ages trying wiper, wash/wiper, wiper/wash..... up down, left right.... No blown fuses......

Left to go on an 85 mile trip, 10x miles down the road...... guess what...? Yep... POP!

So, new wiper motor I guess or second hand...?

Can the motors be stripped and new brushes fitted, is it worth it?

Cheers

Dave..
