MONKEYCOPPER
good evening all, yesterday i went to my defender to find a puddle of diesel underneath the fuel filter, went out and bought a bosch filter to replace one that was leaking ( old filter showed no obvious fault), ive now swapped filter and all seems fine. two queries, (1) do filters "just" leak for no apparent reason ? it was genuine part and (2) it appears to be missing water senser trap wiring, the wiring landrover side is there but part from plug to filter is missing, do i need it ?? filter was changed by main dealer bout 8 months ago and they never mentioned anything which is unusual as they point out anything to bump bill up. any experience gratefully recieved Paul
landy andy.
some times the plastic screw bit that goes into the bottom of the filter snaps and cause the loss of fuel. Not all have the water sensor fitted, and when they are fitted they play up and people remove them. Just keep an eye on it. Andy
