2004 Discovery auto Td5, not tuned, new head.

I have been used to v8's in various forms so the symptoms may be normal for a diseasel.

During overtaking and flattening the pedal to the floor the vehicle will hesitate at

between 3500 and 4000 RPM for around 5 seconds, quite scary really.

Now if I gently accelerate, then everything is fine. It seems it only happens when instant

response is required from the engine.

Now before handing it back to the dealers for another 3 months(that's how long it took to

change the head, vehicle still under warranty)is there anything simple to check? I don't

have access to diagnostic equipment.
