Niamh
So I've found the relevant "how to" posting and I think I'm good to go so just need to get the parts in, I think I need- Spindle bush 1460324333 Spindle O ring 1460210008 Throttle cover gasket 1461015302 And perhaps a spindle as well but I can't find that part number. Anyone know what it is? If it matters it's a '96 EGR pump but there is no EGR anymore. Niamh
DDO173
The EGR and non EGR spindles are different (ask me how I know!) I replaced all the parts you have listed and refitted the original spindal as it wasn't that worn - just the Bush and o-ring causing the leak on mine. Sorry I don't know the correct part # but good luck! This is a job I never wish to do again as it is incredibly getting all the pump internal linkages and levers lined up especially when its all shrouded by an AC pump... Niamh
refitted the original spindal as it wasn't that worn Sure but I don't want to strip everything down and find out I do need a spindle so best to get one in before starting. AdeParko
I have a brand new pump top cover complete with gasket, uprated bush, and brand new spindle I bought it in January this year for my 1996 300tdi with EGR, but the car was written off before I had chance to fit. Pictures below: Let me know if you might be interested in it Thanks Ade
Niamh
If I bought this cover would I just replicate the max power, idle and max speed settings using a vernier? Or could they be different with a different cover? Niamh
AdeParko
Yes; just remove the max power, idle and max speed screws from your cover (measuring them when you do) and re-fit the same on the new cover Thanks Ade
