stuck
Hi all, I've recently purchased a VGT from Bell Auto Services, To reclaim the surcharge I need to send off a fully working turbo but when I removed mine to take the head off my TD5 I noticed that the waste gate linkage was seized (thought she was down on power) Is there a quick fix for this or is it a full strip down? (Turbo only needs to appear to be in working order as I assume it will be overhauled anyway) Thanks, Mick.
Les Henson
If the requirement was to send back a fully working turbo - why would you need to? Just because the wastegate is siezed is nothing at all. What they surcharge you and what they sell it for kinda speaks for itself. Les.
CwazyWabbit
A good squirt of wd40 and a wiggle with a pair of pliers freed mine up, it was siezed when I bought the 110 mainly due to a couple of missing manifold studs and buggered gasket stopping the turbo ever getting up to pressure. Give it a try if you are bothered.
