CwazyWabbit
Is that the only picture of it? There is an amazing amount of info on http://www.lathes.co.uk but unfortunately they are listed under the relative manufacturers so take a long time to search through

simonr
It looks to me like either a Colchester, Boxford or Harrison based on the gear-change operation. It looks pretty good with a dovetail bed, quick-change thread cutting gearbox, powered cross slide and big enough to make decent stuff! zim
So not too bad for £300. Apparently with loads of other bits n bobs. What sort of weight would it be ? G
mickeyw
Well IIRC my Colchester Student 1800, which looks similar in size is 790KG. So time to enlist some proper lifting equipment/help I was lucky enough to know a man with a Hiab to pick it off my trailer. It rolled into the garage quite easily on some 2" dia stock with help from a crowbar.
CwazyWabbit
In my opinion that's a very very good price, don't forget it's probably 3 phase so you would need to add the cost of an inverter or a single phase motor (assuming it's a standard motor and not something fancy) . Try to find out why they are getting rid of it just in case it's knackered.
zim
It's got a single phase motor that someone's put on. But the 3 phase motor is also included. I have a big forklift that i can use to offload and get into the workshop, it's loading the other end i'm not sure about ? G

B reg 90
I guess at a mitchell lathe - very similar boxy lines to a bigger mitchell my brother has. Adrian

Si Not a colchester or boxford by any means, and its a american pattern double vee bed not dovetail by the looks of the picture
