Making safe a petrol tank

Recommended Posts

Well, i don't know what all the fuss was about  I pressure washed it out, filled it with fairy liquid n water and left it for a week, emptied it out and proceeded to grind and plasma cut (and weld up the extra holes i'd made with the plasma cutter)

No problems at all.

Thanks for all the tips on this :)

Steve

Glad you made it out in 1 piece.

In West Africa recently (Mali/Bamako) a backstreet mechanic and his boys dropped the 90L tank off our Land Cruiser washed it out with some detergent and set about brazing up the holes

standard affair in Africa :D
