Ex Member Posted August 13, 2011 Share Posted August 13, 2011 Forget the copper/hide mallet, get alump hammer on it, the steel is VERY hard here, you may mark it, but you won't break it.... If you can find some way of holding the shaft tight all the better, you kind of need to 'shock' the clip out the groove. Actually, I've seen them break. They are very brittle. If you get realy stuck you can use my bench as I am not a million miles away. Let me know if you do and I will clear some space on the bench .
