stuck
Gent's, The 4.6 conversion I'm undertaking is going well but i've just found that the radiator I received with it is damaged (probably me that damaged it if I'm honest) Where the outlet to the expansion tank joins the main body of the rad is split at the rad side, anybody repaired something like this? I think the rad is from a RRC and the tank appears to be copper, should I try to solder it, use plastic metal or throw it in a skip? Thanks for any advice, Mick. SteveRK
Solder in theory can work so long as everything is spotlessly clean, the bigger problem is getting enough heat into the join to fully melt and flow the solder. If you have access to some of those old copper headed solder tools on iron shafts that get heated on a stove it should work. Brazing is prbably a better option though.
