Jimmy Two-Jacks
Hi, Just checking is that right my steering wheel on my 86 (D) 90 is a 36 spline fitting as I put it back on and cant get the sodding thing back off without a fight. Searched and found 36 spline but just want to check before I buy the smaller wheel (well its easier than loosing wieght )
Litch
In this situation I always suggest that you count how many splines you ACTUALLY have rather than how many you SHOULD have. A simple puller can be made in under 10-minutes to remove the wheel. Use a short piece of flat bar with a couple of holes drilled into it and then wind a couple of M6 bolts through these holes into the threads in the wheel, when the bar makes contact with the top of the column it will start to pull the wheel off in a smooth controlled action. You will need the puller when you do the wheel-change anyway (it makes it soooooo much easier) so you might as well make it now.
