Martymoog
Hi, I have an early Sankey military trailer that has been modified to be towed by a normal vehicle, the military hitch has been replaced by a normal ball hitch (located under the tow arm, not on top as is standard). I want to convert it back to a normal military hitch so I can tow it behind my military vehicle, does anyone know where I can obtain an original military ring type hitch to replace the one I have ? Cheers. Marty
jai_landrover
There was a guy on Ebay tht sold them quite cheaply about 25 quid new spares from the fire departmant/mod but are available on ebay for about £70 often. I brought one along time ago with the intention of buying or building a trailer at some point but its still on the to do list.

Highriser
Please remember that the very early sankey's had a small eye about one inch inside diameter and two inch outside diameter and they went under the A frame, still operated the drum brakes in a similar way to the later drum brake on 1/2 tonne sankey's, mine is a 1953 one and the eye is off this size
