eds
According to JCB this blue HP grease is not suitable for wheel bearings. I have just done all my bearings with this! Could it be too thick and sticky? Does anyone have a view? Should I worry? Has anyone else used it for wheel bearings and been confident it is ok? pinny
ive always used this blue grease but i think the reason for it not being recommended as it has a tendency to set and will bind but i have it in my bearings uj and anywhere else i can put grease chris
tacr2man
Sounds like you should have read the spec before you used it , if the seller says its not suitable I would be pretty sure it isnt , start again

Frax
Any grease is better than none.
Steve Hiatt
I used some on my racer which uses Land Rover bearings/stubs/hubs. I put standard grease one side, blue the other about a year ago. I stripped both corners earlier this week and compared. There was little discernible difference between the two, possible the blue grease had held to the bearings better but not a startling difference. Don't lose any sleep over it. Les Henson
I've pretty-much always used JCB blue grease when fitting wheel bearings and have done so for years. I've never once had a problem with using it. Les.

Jack Sugden
I've just bought some Lucas grease that is blue, not sure if the specs are the same as the JCB stuff off hand but it seems to do the job ok. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320757986158?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648#ht_500wt_1180
RustyNissanPrairie
"Soap Type: Lithium Complex" its the same stuff as Rocol Sapphire thats also blue-the only problem I find is that it hardens/sets when extruded or pushed out of bearings, saying that I use it in the main bearings on our massive extraction plant that runs at high speeds with huge loadings and never have any problems with the bearings. Should be fine in LR bearings.
forkrentfitter
i worked for a plant hire company running upwards of 1000 jcb telehandlers, the blue grease supplied by jcb is supposed to be non hardening,as it is used in all the pivot points, well thats if they bothered to drill the holes in the pivot points at the factory!
