LandyManLuke
Hi all, I'm doing some research in to using a standard LT230 speed transducer with a non-LR dash. Does anyone know if the standard sensor is hall effect, pulse etc, and what the pin connections are? Thanks, Luke
western
pin ident is 1 = 12v feed 2 = earth 3 = signal from transducer to speedo all viewed from the pin ends that go into the transducer with pin1 to the parent vehicle front/main gearbox also see the left sheet of the attachments on post 221 http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=14892&st=220] in the wibbly wobbly speedo thread[/url]
CwazyWabbit
You can see the guts of a transducer in this thread http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=70254 It seems to be a spinning magnet.
LandyManLuke
Thanks for the link. I'm guessing its actually a hall effect sensor, rather than a reed switch as indicated in that post, given the speeds it has to work at. Pulse count isn't a problem, as the dash it's going on is configurable.

Rich's ears picked up when I mentioned using one of them to him earlier. Jon
CwazyWabbit
When testing TD5 Defender Speedos I use a 66.6Hz 12v p-p square wave dc biased so there is no negative voltage. This indicates at 60mph on a speedo.
