19MART82
been out in the landrover this morning (93k 90) and the steering feels stiff when turning left, turning right its fine which has thrown me out a bit,i will get under and go through the old process of elimination once the ground has cleared of snow/slush,its not my daily drive so im in no rush but was just wondering if anyoe had any ideas in the meantime as its baffled me a bit so far ive checked the belt, tyre pressure and had a quick look at the track rod ends and all appear ok but i havent had anyone wobbling the steering wheel while i look yet, like i say its just with it only being stiff turning 1 way thats baffled me thanks in advance

potato head
Check the UJs on the steering column.
19MART82
i replaced the steering column uj's back in november as they were shot, the old worn uj's resulted in the steering being stiff both ways, like i say thats what im finding puzzling as i would have thought any part of the steering mech worn/perished would result in the steering being stiff both ways and not just one
mmgemini
Check the UJs on the steering column. As you've been told. Lubricate them well. I pour engine oil over them, however if the steering is stiff, start with WD40

minimaquinas
on my old 110 it used to lock up on a right hand turn and then turn all of a sudden quite hairy at times that was the steering box on its way out
agent nomad
If you have a steering guard check that none of the arms are catching the guard mine was rubbing just on the clip near the track rod end, as the steering guard had been pushed up and back just a little bit so had done its job in protection the arms, but made the steering tight one way but stipped over the guard the other way.
