Abe Posted August 28, 2006 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Morning 4X4 perhaps some one can help I recently had to take the front prop-shaft off my vehicle & took it down to a local (specialist) for a replacement - who has gone into receivership with the shaft (hence i have no original) Drive train configuration is as follows R380 main box LT230 Transfer box both the boxes are from a Discovery I Classic Range rover front axle Have just ordered the prop-shaft part no out from paddocks FRC8386 which is a defender / discovery 1 compatible front prop-shaft I have found that the rear coupling is perfect size to fit the transfer box flange Problem is the flange on the front axle is smaller than the flange on the front end of the prop-shaft the defender flanges are of identical size its just the axle flange is smaller anyone out there with any advice 1) is it possible to remove the smaller flange & put a larger (defender) flange on the front axle is so has anyone a part no or 1) just buy a new prop-shaft with the defender (larger) flange & a smaller front flange a part no would really help as delivery was to the continent it doesnt pay to ship the shaft back to the UK appreciate any help happy trails Abe Ser III Pick-up (def 90 re-build) Classic RR Chassis & a Fern-intercooled 300tdi & K&N induction Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
