Bumble Bee
The Owner's Handbook under Softback 'folding/unfolding' shows a 'side cover' (see attach.) that slides onto the lower body trim when the softback is open and removed when the softback is closed. My secondhand softback kit does not have these two rubber trims and it appears the seller used the kit without. When closed the trim is not needed so I guess the top functions OK without it. This would suggest it is cosmetic when the top is open. Can anyone tell me if these cover trims are available to buy, where from and whether it really matters. Many thanks, Alan
SteveR1
Hi, I believe these reduce the wind noise, and aren't necessary but did come with the original kit. I've not seen them come up on eBay except with full kits, so I would guess you'll have to find the part number and get them new. You might be very lucky and someone has found their pair since selling their car or roof. Good luck, Steve.
Bumble Bee
Thanks for your reply Steve, glad to hear they're not too important. I'll keep a look out or hopefully someone may find a spare set hiding in their garage. Any info re part number would be welcome, although I'd hate to think what the local LR dealership would charge for supplying...
