gadget
Folks, During the heavy rain the engine bay on my 110 gets quite drenched due to the gap along the bonnet edge being more than 1/2 inch. Some of the under bonnet electrics aren't best pleased with the water Is there meant to be some kind or rubber lip or edging to fill this gap? Guest
Don't think so, normal LR tolerance think about it the other way it lets the air out when wading!! Best bet is to insulate the electrics, or relocate them if possible. What is causing you issues? Jason
mmgemini
What's the problem with the electrics ? I don't or haven't noticed any with my 300Tdi
western
maybe the bonnet stops/latch need adjusting, there are 2 seal strips available for the edges to wing top see item 16 page 939, http://www.retroanaconda.com/landrover/parts_books/110/10_trim_seats_stowage_accessories_p910-1075.pdf you'll need 2 plus the rivets. gadget
The main problem is the aftermarket alarm sounder. Some clever soul has mounted it in a perfect position to fill up with water. I'm hoping to dump the alarm and use the AS10 with an immobiliser ring eventually. I was just curious about the gap size and wondered if there was something amiss. @Western MTC6413 look like they'd be a solution I'll have a look at the adjusters. What gap size should I be aiming for?
western
bonnet gap as small as possible, I have those seals on my bonnet edges & they keep rain out.
mmgemini
There's a much better place for an alarm than under the bonnet. Place it inside. Then it hurts the ears of anybody who gets in that shouldn't get in.
gadget
I may end up doing that with the sounder and wiring another horn under the bonnet for me to hear.

western
Sorry to hijack the post but where did you get yours from? Cheers J got mine through the independent LR dealer I bought my 110 from, but Brit-car or LR Series or any of the more well known parts suppliers should be able to complete a order for the strips.
