Are bulkheads interchangeable?

Are there any major differences between bulkheads for different engine fitments? The main area of concern is around the transmission tunnel, as Im looking to replace the bulkhead on a 1986 110 csw v8, and have been offered one from a 2.5td. I know the lt85 transmission tunnel is quite different to the lt77 one, but am not sure if the difference is taken up by the small section that joins the tunnel to the bulkhead.

Thanks, Matt

There are some differences as regards which combination of gearbox engine you have , IIRC there are only two new replacement types . Most variations can be covered by changing the part that screws to the actual bulkhead and then the tunnel that suits that to the seatbase , the seatbase change was at the 300tdi point . HTSH

The seat box change was actually at the lt85 point, the 300tdi / td5 just carried on using the lt85 tunnel/seat box, hence the td5 bulkhead being a straight fit to a factory v8.

The late td5 bulkheads (the ones that were £160 new) do not have the removable tunnel diaphragm panel, not a problem for v8 / 300tdi / td5 but for fitting to older vehicles need the tunnel cut away to allow the lt77 panel to fit.

Just for info for other factory v8 lt85 owners, my Dad is currently modifying a td5 era bulkhead to fit his 1988 v8 110.

The transmission tunnel fits the td5 bulkhead with no mods at all.

So am i right in thinking then that the td5/ 300 transmission tunnel, floor plates seat box all will fit over an LT85 gearbox mated to a v8 in the factory position? as i have been on the elusive search for these parts for nearly 12 months to no avail. If the TD5 fit, these are in a more abundant supply.
