Measuring?

If you get a spare couple of mins!

I've measured these bits on a number of vehicles and found a small difference in some measurements. Just want a handle on the min & max across a wider range of examples.

1. Distance from rear of vehicle to start of rubber around alpine light.

2. Width of Alpine Light measued at outside of rubber at widest point.

The rear tub has a row of rivets just below the capping on each side. these are about 20mm above the fold where the body bulges out. I would like to know:

3. Distance from rear of vehicle to first rivet.

4. Separation of each of the other rivets from the previous one.

5. Length of rear tub (door to rear of vehicle)

Could you specify if it's a 90/110 and what body style it is.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Si

Cripes Mark! :o You must have gone and bought a bone-a-fyd-e Land Rover measuring stick to get that kind of correlation between near side and off side!

Go out and check it again with a B&Q tape measure! :P:P:lol:

Either that or you measured the same side twice........:lol::ph34r:

Roof protector bars?

Might be!

I was just looking at Tony's post about the quantocks wrecking his car - and thought he might appreciate something like that!

I was surprised at the cost of such items - and thought I would have a look at the actual production cost & see if I could do better!

The rivet positions were just to minimise the number of extra holes you have to drill in your tub - so long as they are all accuratly the same.

I'm in for some!

I think a new roof and a cage redesign will be required, a new front hoop ala HFH style with the roof bars extending back to protect the roof.

mine looks shabby now. I can live with it but getting hung up on the tree yesterday was a tad tiresome watching the roof fold in.
