Tank sourcing help

Recommended Posts

A quick question for all the Learned sages on the forum.

My 1994 110 Station Wagon is in need of a new Fuel tank.

So, where is the best place to source one from?

(& No, I don't want a certain brand!)

To be honest, I have the unmentionable brand fitted to my 110 V8 and I hate to say it, but it does the job. Was bought as an emergency (10 gallons of unleaded dribbling down the drive tends to upset some people) 3 years ago and other than giving it a couple of coats of enamel, no real problems.

I'm actually grateful for a reply.

Thought I might've caught something!

Jeff, I know the feeling. Touring Europe on the "half a tank" principle, tended to shred the nerves.

Then the Alternator packed in!

Not long (the following day) after I fitted the bugger I found out the hard way that the fuel sender was also being very optimistic - we stopped dead with half a tank of petrol in a V8, about an hours worth of bad language later the nice AA man brought me some.....

Was not a happy bunny, but honest, it's been no problem, onlt thing that didn't fit was the bloody cradle it came with, so re-used the one of the old tank.

That's main reason for changing it.

When I bought the vehicle, the tank had been changed, & they fitted the wrong return pipe. This caused no end of problems over the years. The mount for the sender is cream-crackered because the sender has been removed too many times.
