Guest
Mike, If you read the wibbly wobbly speedo thread it will give you information on what goes where to the dash however I know that Mo Murphy has used a TD5 loom in his 200tdi so he may be the best person to help you. Not wishing to teach you to suck eggs but as some people read this forum on mobiles etc you may get more responses if you post the topic in the title like: "Help needed with TD5 loom in a 200tdi" that way people will respond quicker. Mo Murphy
i would like to know how to get the water temp/oil/heaters/ ect to work Mike, First of all what, precisely, is not working because your heater runs off the dash harness via the satellite fuse box and so should be working. Secondly, I'd suggest you buy a second engine harness and put it by for when you want to convert to TD5 then strip out engine harness number 1 and use it for the basically for the connectors to the other harnesses. You'll need a 300Tdi temp sender (can't remember which, either black or green) to make the temp sender work and an adapter to fit it as it's different to the 200 one. That will need a little wiring mod behind the speedo as it needs to be routed through a resister in the speedo to make it work accurately (see the wibbly wobbly speedo thread) Use the wiring diagram to identify which wires are for oil pressure light and temp sender, adapt and connect. I didn't bother trying to use the glow plug set up and put in a new install using a 300 glow plug relay with a fused supply from the starter motor terminal. That's more you can strip out IIRC we used the TD5 charging wire for the alternator but had to change the fittings for the other wires. Lastly you'll need a ign switched supply for the stop solenoid which you'll find in the dash fusebox. Rip out everything else that you can't find a use for then disconnect it all, wrap it, stick it in some split conduit and refit, plugging it all back into the other TD5 harnesses. Plug and play TD5 type engine harness for a 200 Tdi HTH Mo Edited to add that the speedo transducer harness MAY come off the engine harness too so bear that in mind too but I can't remember, it's been a couple of years now.
