mbm
Dear all, A friend of mine has bought an 1998 110 2.5TD. The engine runs smooth, and pulls like a charm. After servicing we have dropped in 6.5 litres of oil and the level in the dipstick is over the max line by 2". The level is reached with only 5 liters. Any suggestions on what look for? NUMHSKULL
Hi had the same problem with mine. the tube that holds the dipstick is attached to the block with a union nut that compresses an olive around the tube. they have a nasty habit of coming loose allowing the tube to push too far into the sump causing a false high oil level readiing hope this helps... western
same dipstick & tube as the Defender 200tdi, which also come loose & drops giving a incorrect dipstick reading, search for 200Tdi dipstick, I posted the LR Tech Bulletin in here ages ago.
