del
Just simple one , side light passenger side packed up ,changed bulb -no joy , fuse blown - changed that , now bulb lights up only when you push the bulb in hard and the goes out when released into its resting place (if you know what I mean!) . Does it need a new bulb holder?
Jim1
Mine was bad earth wire. Remove holder and check the connections may need to remake the connections.
Les Brock
Chances are the little spring in the back of the centre contact has broken or, sticking !
Troll Hunter
LR genuine and aftermarket (Britfart) side, brake/tail, indicator and reversing light internals are all carp and seem to need replacing every 5 - 7 years. The plastic internals harden and crack/disintegrate, allowing the bulb to become loose. This is possibly due to overheating, but I think the basic design and material selection are flawed. I routinely replace mine, as above. I'm now on my third set! Mike
del
took it apart its the bulb holder , but it keeps on popping fuses - is it ok to put in a larger amp fuse?
western
nope, unless you want a possible loom fire .replace the bulb holder unit, sounds like it's shorting out internally
Simon Smith
I've got all LEDs in mine, but they still fail regularly. I think the plastic on the standard lamps is a bit too biodegradable So I'm going for a pair of these next time to see if they're any better. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RDX-LED-Front-Side-Light-lamp-LandRover-Defender-90-110-Series-74mm-12v-24v-/390448458061?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5ae88aa94d

Cant seem to get the right size fuses ,the ones from halfords are a bit to long
