KennyC
I can hardly see ( plus already have one duff bulb ) the dash lights on my defender temp/fuel/speedo etc., Is there a brighter bulb that can be purchased..plug n play? Thanks ( tried a search but no joy )
western
what model ? if not Td5 then higher wattage bulbs will just melt the tubes the bulbs sit inside, you can swap to led lights which give better illumination.
Smego
I brought a LED kit thinking that would make it better in my 110 but I just have dull blue dials now the only one that is decent is the retro fit turbo pressure dial. Thinks it's a land rover pre TD5 thing.
Off Road Toad
Fit a Td5 instument binnacle, you'll wonder why you never did it sooner once you see the difference! I got a complete binnacle with instruments and the connector loom for £40 off eblag!

Ian Barrett
I have the SimonB kit and can't recommend it enough. My dash lights were completely rubbish because the plastic sockets on the back of the gauges had melted to the bulbs. My speedo was so dim I couldn't actually read it properly. Now I have fantastic dash lights. Not overly bright, but a nice green glow which is very easy to read. Just be careful breaking out the bit inside your gauge. I managed to bugger the fuel gauge because I was heavy handed. Take your time and softly softly if you get any bits inside. Especially on the fuel gauge. There is a wire in there not much thicker than a couple of hairs width so a bit of plastic flinging about in there damages it easily. But whatever you do, do it.
