ajh
Has anyone re-done their brakes on a 90 without the G-valve? I know on my 110 there isn't one fitted (though it was originally rear drums) and I don't notice any issues. Given the amount of corrosion we end up with here the less complex the better when it comes to running steel lines. (Copper is not an option here). Retroanaconda
G-valves are a short-wheelbase thing. All the 90s I've seen have had them. Personally I'd leave it in, the designers saw fit to put it there and I'd trust their judgement. For the same reason I would leave out the PDWA valve on an earlier vehicle or a 110, since that was binned on later models in favour of a sensor in the reservoir cap. Why is copper not an option? Do they not sell cupro-nickel or copper brake pipe in Canada?
ajh
Nope, only steel.
ajh
Would a simple proportioning valve work for the same purpose? I'd really like to simplify the pipe routing if possible.
western
post 1991 90 models have a pressure reducing valve, to prevent rear brakes locking up before the front brakes.
ajh
Ah, ok so that's what this has then. PRV, right. So it's just a proportioning valve anyway.
western
it should be one of these http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/9412/NTC8836-BRAKE-BIAS-VALVE.html?search=BRAKE%20VALVE&page=1 http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/8590/NRC8215-BRAKE-SYSTEM-VALVE-ASSEMBLY.html?search=BRAKE%20VALVE&page=
