porsche
looks like a modification job then as the shoulder in the cooler will not allow all the thread in !
western
don't know what fittings they are then, even a Range Rover classis 200tdi list ESR1262 as the adaptors. might be from another unknown vehicle or source.
porsche
sorry forgot to say it is a 95 300 disco auto !
western
same adaptors as I've noted above, on the old adaptor what is on the other side of the circular bit ?

western
can't find anything like it in the parts list I use, do you know if the radiator is a genuine LR item or from another supplier [not LR]
porsche
the way the pipes where corroded I would say genuine
western
wonder if a previous owner has altered the adaptors, or is it your vehicle from new ?
porsche
4 previous , sadly but the part sent , does nt go in far enough m should i just cut it down and make a seal ?
Phil Hancock
The old adaptor does not look like a genuine/comercial part to me as its not plated and the middle section has no spanner flats for tightening into the cooler.
western
now you've offered that Phil it could be a homemade/one off adaptor for the job, maybe it was a replacement rad & one of the previous owners disposed of the old rad & adaptor then realised the adaptors were meant to be swapped. Porsche, you could get the new ones shortened to fit.
porsche
will shorten them tomorrow , saw a friend tonight and told me about a place in the next village that makes hydrolic pipes up , and showed me some ally washers with rubber inside , tried one and it was a reasonable fit , so will go over tomorrow and get better fitting ones , will report back when I eventually get chance to fit them , still trying to spray tub up to get some panels on , cannot put cooler on till cage is on as it has extreme wing kit on front which attaches to main cage , so all mechanical work is mounting up as I cannot get time to spray panels , have done bulkhead though , put new footwells in sprayed up in orchid white . western
sounds good, the alloy/rubber washer/seals are known as Dowty seals, I use some at work on aircraft. I'm sure they will be more than satisfactory for the intended use.
