spiker3
hi everyone, I didnt want to do it but I had to replace the air suspension on my 1993 RR LSE with coils. I chose bearmach and are happy with them. I now need to replace the shocks but my choices here in Botswana are cheap fong kong rubbish, basic monroes or OME. I obviously dont want the fong kong rubbish but the 4x4 dealer here says the OME are for the disco 1 and they should fit. I dont want to take a chance on the OME and then find out they are wrong, does anyone out there know if the OME for the disco is suitable with the Bearmach springs? Or are the basic Monroes good enough? Should I go and see if the local LR dealer has something more appropriate? Thanks
Team Idris
I guess you want them to fit right first time no problem, without adjusting anything? In which case go OE. But if you can afford a fit-&-check, then take a spring off one side and cross axel it. If the new shock isn't bottoming out then you'll be okay. I just bought two front shocks from OME and they look good for the task. As D1 and RRC are nearly the same vehicle I can believe they are the same part. But I have no proof.
