Spare key remote pairing issue

Recommended Posts

I got a second hand Defender 90 (1999)

The primary remote operates well and disables the alarm and immobilizer correctly.

I decided to change the remote battery on both remotes. For the primary unit, I changed the battery according to the procedure and it’s fine.

However the spare key remote is not working (the old battery was completely dead: did not work before the battery change).

I followed the normal procedure with no success.

I also followed this procedure:

1: Enter the L322 and close doors

2: Insert key in ignition lock. Turn to Pos II, then back again and remove key all in a sequence without delays

3: Keep the Unlock button of the remote pressed. Do not release it.

4: Still keeping the unlock button pressed, now press THREE TIMES on the bigger LOCK button.

5: Now release the UNLOCK button. L322 confirms by locking doors.

6: Put the key back in the ignition lock, turn to Pos II, turn back and remove key, all in a sequence.

... still nothing.

Does anyone know another procedure?

I have the 4 digit security code (EKA) and I also have the primary key remote that works.

Thank you.
